IMPORTANT - American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009: The deadline for law enforcement agencies to take advantage of these funds is rapidly approaching. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (known as the Recovery Act) provides assistance to state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies and other criminal justice activities to prevent crime and improve the U.S. criminal justice system while supporting the creation of jobs and providing resources for state, local, and tribal communities. 

This support is available for the purchase of equipment, body armor, supplies, information systems, technical assistance, training, personnel, public safety software, and technology. But there is a deadline of May 18, 2009, for law enforcement agencies to take advantage of these funds.

For general information on the American Recovery Act and how this effects you and your department visit http://www.recovery.gov/ and pay close attention to the Timeline - Milestones at a Glance section, this will allow you to monitor deadlines and other related schedules related to acquiring these funds.

Here you will find each state broken down into counties and get the exact amount of funds that have been allocated to your local area.
